Local Boy Scout Troop #534 held its court of honor ceremony at the local VFW building Monday, Aug. 10.
American Legion Post #11 and VFW Post #9599 served the local scouts and their families a picnic meal. After the meal, the two veteran groups presented a check for $500 to the local troop. Scoutmaster Scott Johnson accepted the check on behalf of the Boy Scouts. The local veteran groups have relied on Troop #534 over the years to assist them with their local civic duties.
